Nodus supports multiple payment gateways to provide our customers flexibility with their ePayment processing.

  • What is a Merchant Account ?

A merchant account is a bank account that allows merchants to accept credit cards and other types of electronic payments. This account establishes the relationships you need to process electronic payments from your customers.

  • What is a Payment Gateway?

You can think of a payment gateway as a credit card terminal for online retail activity. A payment gateway is an online service provider that authorizes electronic payments and processes them with an entity’s merchant account. Companies use 3rd party payment gateways to facilitate the transfer of payment information between a payment portal (such as an eCommerce shopping cart, mobile payment, interactive voice response service or other internet based transactions) and the front-end processor or acquiring bank. Gateways also provide a virtual terminal that allows a merchant to securely log in to enter credit card numbers and have the website's shopping-cart connect to the gateway via an API to allow for real-time processing.
